I prefer to interpret things from a plot-based POV rather than from a psychological one

Assuming that this is the beginning of a series, that it's pretty obvious that the first girl is going to be the end boss at some point.

If I were writing a series based on it, it would either involve her becoming the cosmic insanity monster and fighting her way through the hierarchy of demons, God of War style, or it would involve another girl becoming involved in the universe and fighting her way up until she fights her old friend. Good old fashioned Shonen action.

Because horror stuff has never really entertained me. It's too obvious >.>

Counter to your anti-horror sentiments, Japanese horror is VERY well written.

That's not the point, really. My reading of books is driven by character development. I love seeing a weak character become a stronger character, or a haughty character becoming a more open character.

In a horror, it's more often the haughty character just dies. The weak character turns out to be the axe murderer. The strong character is revealed to be a crybaby who pretends to be strong to cover prior trauma.

There isn't any character development, it's just revelations, and I don't like that. In my mind, a series can be driven by either character development, or by humor. If it lacks either of those, I don't see it being worth reading (for me).

There are obviously exceptions, but they're few and far between, and I'd rather just read those that I know are more likely to contain what I enjoy than read something that's NOT likely to contain that in the hopes that it will.

I've watched this before, can't remember where, but someone showed me it at a party (we weren't in our right minds at the time and he wanted to scare me >.>).
