I'd take a high proof microbrew over stuff like Budweiser any day. I don't really see the point of drinking watery beer. And yes, Octoberfest is tasty.

I'll change me response a bit. Yuengling is in my opinion slightly superior to Oktoberfest, which is a darn good beer.

Yep. Europe knows how to make beer. Unlike the US. Drinking US beer is like making love in a canoe in a lake. (It's fucking close to water).

As someone that enjoys a good brew, I'm not going to even do the quiz as the only one on the list worth drinking is a porter called Guiness.

For a stout try Coopers from South Aust. Coopers also does a nice pale ale. For a lager try Swan Draught from the West Or Carlton Draught in the East. Newcastle brown ale is one of the best ales available in the world in my opinion, (Newcastle UK that is). Bulmers cider, (served in a pint glass over ice) is one of the most refreshing drinks known to man, but if you are in the south of england try a Scrumpy. Best pilsner I've tried, as well as the best low alcohol beer, was from a small brewery called Gage Roads from Fremantle in West Aust, but that almost counts as a wanky microbrewery.

Wherever you are, drink the local brew and at least try it, but at all costs avoid Fosters, even us Aussies don't drink that shit. And we drink anything.

Ideally try all the beers from a tap, not a can or bottle. It does taste very different as different preservatives are added.

You should include ciders in that list considering Summer is fast approaching. Kopparberg is the perfect summer drink for me.

I tried some Gold Stripe from Jamaica over the weekend. It was. . .different. . .but really not too bad. For the Europeans here, it would probably fall into the category of sex in a small boat, but as an American who is used to that sort of thing, I found it pretty good. I prefer a lighter beer in the summer time anyway as long as it isn't polluted with a bunch of lime and citrus taste.

Yes Yuengling is fucking great. Best bar beer for sure.
