That would be true, given its within command perimeters and has been provided the necessary tools to do so... but this is extremely unlikely to happen anytime in the near future.

If this program develops its own feeling and awareness in order to optimize usage as you say, then logically the development of empathy is the required to make use of that consciousness.

The point is moot though, my argument is that progress is too far and few in between due to our petty squabbles and tiny points of view... thus I cherish it. Even if in the future it requires several steps back at least we are headed a direction that is not CONSISTENTLY backwards. ~This is my opinion though feel free to have your own.

you misunderstood what i meant by conciousness, and i cant be fucked explaining it to you.

conciousness is nothing other than the "sense" of the passage of time, the idea that you exist "now" rather than having no perception of time, like when you're asleep.

and keep in mind that it is a neural network computer, mimicing the brain, not a conventional computer. none of the preconceptions about "computers" apply

this neural network computer would grow intellectually just like any living being, it is a learning computer

basically, a brain in a jar, just way more powerful than the biological brains that designed it
