Has anyone suggested ship coloring?

Have a base in sol where you can have your ship repainted.

Commods are only obtainable as a DG drop
Red Dye
Orange Dye
Yellow Dye
Green Dye
Violet Dye
Indigo Dye
Blue Dye

Base Mission:
Dye Mixer 2: Needs 2 of any 7 dye to make a new color + 1,000,000,000 Credits
Dye Mixer 3: Needs 3 of any 7 dye to make a new color + 5,000,000,000 Credits
Dye Mixer 4: Needs 4 of any 7 dye to make a new color + 10,000,000,000 Credits


I thought this would be fun to enjoy SS abit, i mean having your own personal color seems AWESOME. and makes every ship looks different in their own way. i also know you can mod this stuff but to a person who can't mod like me, this should bring some light

been suggested, but realistically it would be a lot of work for the artists to come up with good looking recolors of ships. not really worth it.

Not enough people playing the game for micro-transactions like different skins to be of much benefit.

We also already have a major cash sink in this game: The game encouraging players to make more than one account and MCing them.

The a billion commod actually does have an use.

Well, Venusian Gear has a use, but it's also very much considered crap in the loot table. What about all those M3, Anda Drone, and FT bps? How about things like Flapping Wings and Argon Walls on the low end of the spectrum? Go up 1 tech and it's now a piece of crap.

What you are looking for is micro-transactions done through support tickets. You pay SS 1 or 2 US dollars via CC or PP, specify the ship you own and the new skin, and wait for a MTA Dev to change your ship's skin.

Your ship when docked would have a "Change Skin" option if you right click on it and actually have a different skin to use.


To everyone else, it's a normal whatever it was before, just with a new skin. The name, stats, and how you obtain the ship do not change at all. A Marijuana Wave skin would still be a Poseidon Wave.

I don't consider a color change to be a useful feature. It offers no combat or passive benefit of any kind. It's just there to shout "Look at me, I'm Special!"

And yes, A Billion is a holiday commod that can be traded in for useful stuff.
