Just a quick idea; what if we had a place where anyone could submit ship skins? They would have to pick which ship it was meant for, and then select a name and submit it to a database. Now this alone wouldn't do anything, but what would happen after that is that anyone else could look through that database, and then pay real money to have that skin applied to their account. Then, the person who made that skin would be awarded several space points for their hard work, space points which could then be turned around to buy themselves their own special skin! However, buying a skin with space points wouldn't give the creator anything...or maybe it would just take more space points to get a skin than was rewarded for making one? I don't know.

Oh, and finally; if a skin or model submitted is actually used for a real ship rather than for just one person, they receive some sort of special reward. Like a ship skin!

Would require change in the space point system with the new website changes, but isn't a bad idea.

I make ship skins because I enjoy it, but it wouldn't say not to a little reward for the effort. I'd say a separate point reward set to spacepoints though. In most cases, just having a texture of mine added to the game is reward enough.
