Post Ruby Steppes, the Rubian hidden homes.
Summary: Update to Ruby Steppes and Steppes, with possibility of 1 or 2 more galaxies. 1 major mission chain concerning the Rubian political position and 2 minor ones concerning pirates(1) and overeager miners(2).

Lore: The Rubians are living Rubies. Naturally this would cause xenophobic tendecies pop up, the fact the Rubians have an extensive mining and trade network have convinced outsiders that they should be treated with resepct. Not all people agree, though.


Major Mission Chain 1:

Basically, the Paxians stumble across the Rubians. The rest of the "Living" Races (against the UrQa) do not see the Rubians as "Life", and such have been invaded by a large human (not neccesarily Earthforce) group. Their motives are unknown, but they intend to kick the Rubians out or kill them outright.

(Near the end of this chain, several members of Earthforce are found to be the ringleaders)

The player's help is sought.


Minor Mission Chain 1: Within the Major chain, this and another Minor Chains will expose themselves. The first details a "Hessian"-like force on the side of the Humans.

As long as pay is ensured, the pirates help the Humans. Or until their losses become too great.

Minor Mission Chain 2: The real motive turns out to be greed. The men leading the fight are interested in the giant living Rubies to be cut up and sold off. People are still angry about the definition of life, and therefore only a small core of humans are greedy.


Forces involved:

Rubian High Command: The Rubian Navy has never been very quick to mobilize, stemming from the nature of being living Crystals. They tried to compensate, using utilize missiles and grem lasers to get the better of their normally quicker enemies.

The Rubians use mostly retro-fitted civilian ships, armored and equipped with missile batteries. Frigates and Cruisers are normally used for operations, though the Rubians hold a reserve force of Battleships (Ruby Emissary's) for dire situations.

Human Assault Fleet: The humans armada is much faster, making use of a combined arms force to decimate enemies, and knock them off their feet (if they have any) as objectives are completed.

Unlike the Rubian fleet, the human navy is a hobble of ships. Everything from Kelvins for scouting to Shrimps as a kind of cruiser, to combat Behemoths are found, backed by a core force of "private" Capital Ships.

Completing the Main Chain and Minor Chains will allow access to rewards and gear missions.

Major Chain Rewards:
1. Ruby Emissary (ship). A one time slightly more powerful Scarlet Carrier. More or less the same ship, but has slightly better resists, +1 missile on the inbuilt launcher, and quite a bit more speed.


Gear Missions

1. Ruby Missile Overloader (OL). Not sure if this can be coded, but would be an OL that requires one to dock in order to unequip, but when equipped, boosts missile speed and effect by 25%. Missile Time is reduced by whatever amount needed to keep same range.

2. Ruby Capacitor (Cap). An unusual item that boosts resist to heat and mining rather than increase shields and or energy.

3. Ruby Hull Expansion (Expander). Also not sure if it can be coded. But if it can, the Expander is 1 size, +1 hull. In exchange, it allows 200 extra missiles to be carried. Must be unpacked; no crates.

4. Ruby Defense Unit (Shield). Relatively large, low regen, high bank. Primary use is the +5% or so resist bonus.

5. Ruby Heavy Reactor (Energy). Relatively large, decent elect. Primary use is the +5% or so resist bonus.


Minor Chain 1 Reward:
1. Ruby Mobile Missile Factory (Neurobound, produces Ruby Kinetic Missiles[crates]). Missiles impart act like an inverse Vortex and a Kinetic.

Minor Chain 2 Reward:
1. Ruby Crystal Factory (Neurobound, Produces Ruby Crystal Tweak). Tweak adds acts like a Last Defense but with Elect instead of Shield Bank.

I do not like the idea of introducing another race, we don't have enough content for the existing races as it is

Technically, it isn't another race. Ruby Transports and Ruby Carriers already exist as AI, and Ruby Steppes is a permanent galaxy dedicated to them.

It's just adding physical content and lore to something that has none.
