Still needs to be added. If you are charging multiple drones at once and drain your bank you suddenly become 100% unable to tractor, use quite a few tweaks and even scooping becomes difficult.

Give us the option to set a minimum energy limit on charging things so that when our elec regen turns into -800/s it will suddenly stop with the specified amount of energy bank left and simply charge off regen from there.

Then if say I tractor something and start using that remaining bank my drones simply stop charging while I am regening back to my minimum.

Unequipping drones is not an option as all the time and energy put into charging said drones is lost. With the old system we had no limit on how many drones we could have ready at once nor did we have a time in which charging said drones left us completely defenseless, now we can only do 18 and have to wait upwards of 10 seconds average just to use something we already have. Just let us have this option.

yeah, if you dont have a ridiculous amount of energy you are pretty much useless right after you scoop drones.

Even my Heph machine engineer with t21 droner augs gets left at 0 energy for a good 10 seconds after scoop drones. I honestly dont know what was wrong with the old system where you just laid your drone and it costed you like 20k energy all at once.

I never heard a word about it either. It's not like capacitors don't exist. Drones do tend to go through a lot of money on drones, it's not like they can't afford the capacitors. (you can't use the arguement of they don't make any profit, they worked their way up to those expensive drones, didn't they?)

I hate to say it, but I also disagree with Jeff on this one. I think this idea would simplify engineer a tad rather than complicate it. Engineer is already a very complicated class to play - I switch tractors, controllers, drones, use tweaks, etc quite rapidly at times during more difficult battles. In regards to this, I'm expected to add even more into it in order to make sure I have enough energy to be able to use my primary tools - it starts to feel like I'm hitting enough keys to type a novel.

There is no other class that is expected to unequip and re-equip their weapons at high speeds during battle. In fact, the game specifically disallows them to do so. Engineer already has a lot of unique penalties regarding their weapons such as a) being able to lose them, and b) having by far the highest ongoing operating costs of any class (I don't lose many drones, but the instability of C2 for the first couple of months costed me enough drones that I could have started a new character and built them an end-game setup with what I spent replacing them - which I'm not complaining about btw - I'm just pointing out that there are enough penalties to engineers to balance out the power of their weapons).

To me, this feels much more like a handicap then a help, and it is one that is easy to remedy without being turned into a major and over-powered advantage.

Aye, one I did not even hit on. If you are using some sort of Elec scoop you cannot get your drones when your bank is drained.
