An expanded choice of drones at all levels combined with more damage types is a great idea. As already proven, by examples and proof from the market, there is a massive bottleneck for end game Armada Drones along with there being pretty much 2 useful damage types as far as drones go due to there being no other options.

Give us options and help fix this bottleneck, not sure how any new droner is suppose to afford 4b+ for a single Armada Inferno when the next best thing is BFDs, I guess, which will still cost you 2b+ for 3 and are pretty squishy.

If drones are meant to be consumables than be sure they are able to be priced like that, not like very expensive, permanent, weapons (MTs, one of the best weapons in the game, run for about 2b per)

Im a lvl 750 DM which is well above t20 lvl but im stuck in a testudo (Amazing Heavy Support Freighter btw) because I cant afford the 10-15b for BFDs a Bubble and a Charge or two while at the same time forking out the 12b to aug a pax. Lets get some drones that break that Arma drone reliance!

I also suggest some decent surgical drones, a Barbers Pole/Shop (Sweeny) would be nice or a Too Much Lipo drone.

That being said, this topic was very worthy of a bump.

I like this if for no other reason then it would mean that I don't have to rely exclusively on farming UZ to be able to play - the only usable t20 drones - inferno, ambush, charge, bfd AND regular armada ALL require armada drones to acquire (no brainer on the last one). It is a bit much that we have to entirely rely on perpetually farming a single item. Yes, I know that there are some t21 drones which I admittedly have not spent enough time using to determine their worth, but it would really make the game much more interesting for engi if we didn't have to spend so much time farming UZ or getting others to farm UZ for us (ie advertising endlessly on trade chat for armada drones)

Haven't updated this because Smw more or less seemed to give me a "Meh" for a response.

I've wanted to respond to SMW's mining response with a series of weak Mining Laser Drones, an Abstructor/Excomm/Preacher series, an Armada Siege Drone(ZS, ZBL), and a mining pulse gun drone series.

I'm generally "meh" to drone suggestions because that is one of the areas I have the least experience and confidence in

Could be a decent idea to get a group of experienced players together who can hash out some balanced drone ideas. I am glad you are hesitant to touch something you don't have experience with as that is better then a broken or useless update but if this is the case then the next obvious step would be to bring experience in.

I'd like a drone that shoots those green excom things. Abstructors. That would be cool.
