Reduce the effect on the laser by 50%, increase the damage by 25% to compensate.

Concussions kicked me off my drones, so I died, and it nearly killed them. Mind you this is a level 160 alt. I can't understand why ANY NEW PLAYER would try engineer if these things happen....

End result: Laser only reduces your turning by 50%, not a full 100%. Damage buffed.

That makes sense; DMs at that level can't rely on tractors to get them back to their drones in an emergency.

...Which only helps players who are playing damage resistant slow builds. Which is what your complaint really is.

Sawtooth's go 75. SawtoothX's go 95. Their lasers are range 400 - 700 or so.

If you're going up against them, there's plenty of solutions: OBAs, faster ship, tracking weapons, envelopes, missile spam to present decoy, tech 5 mini-warper... and so on and so forth.

Hint: both have paper-thin shields. If your drones can't do the damage to them to kill a single one, you're doing it wrong.


Reavers don't have 100% turn due to having 1.5++k range, fyi.

The problem with that reasoning is that at the level you face reavers, you have more ways of escaping or dealing with it, and you also tend to just go faster.

At the level you face saws, you don't have the speed, the shields, the tractors, or the damage to properly handle them. They are really insanely OP in a lot of situations.

Sawtooth are level 100, Sawtooth X, level 360.

Sawtooth may be balanced to around 180-200.


For the record: Sawtooth / X's have had the same gear since at least 2007. Your ancestors fought said AI with a lot less available items, drones, ships, augs or class skills than you: more than is offset by the new SP system.
