the map loading speed will be increased to way faster than it was before the slowdown (by changing the way its loaded). So for the loading issue, well, it will disapear. As far as the wallpaper idea goes, i dont dislike it, but its not something that can be done as easily as just saving the map to the disk. Since it would not be in a rendered format.

I do not dislike the idea, but i dont see a full map appear just now (maybe once we finally finish the ss2 website and begin integrating more and more parts from the game, we could have a map rendered for your account (would create a png of your account map or something). but until then, i dont think it will happen.

But why redownload map every time anyway when we could have em insta loaded.

No, seriously whats so bad about us having our unimap saved in the star sonata folder and everytime we log in it just loads that, bam less than a sec to load and WAY LESS SERVER LOAD.

What is up with the extra slow map loading speed?

I happen to know C1 cached the map locally. I also know that cached map sometimes got corrupted and crashed the game when you tried to log into your account.
