Now that searching through each ship / base individually has been added, i'm wondering if a /search all box can be added, so instead of trolling through several thatches full of gear to search for that 1 item, over again .. several chars, one can dock at a base where their ships are stored, and search ALL ships at that base for the item.

I'd love this to be implemented, t'would make life SO much easier !!

Actually, the solution is to move away from ship-based storage completely, making storage account-wide in the process. But yeah, I'll continue to hold off on a full suggestion until the devs have had a chance to catch their breath.

I still want an account 'bank' over all your chars ..

Account / character storage would be awesome. But where does it go? If it's accessible from every AI base, then you start to have lots of potential for exploit to deal with.

That being said, I don't really know how one search box for searching multiple ships would work. Where would the results be, and how would you interact with them? Much more realistic would be a slash command that could give you the names of any ships that have that item, but even then it sounds a bit clunky.

Or maybe we should make super-thatches that have the cargo of 10 thatches, but also take up 7 ship slots? =)

it's possible. I know i myself however use 3 seperate thatches for non base gear on my sniper alone. for augs/bp's and 1 for standard gear/loot and 1 for t21 gear and preferred gear-sets. easier for me to sort things like that than have 1 super ship for everything.

Perhaps a seperate window should be accessible somewhere on the screen only if clicked.

It tends to just be that ONE pesky item you are searching for, and have missplaced it somewhere.

Hmmm station where you docked after reset? Of course if there were 2 or more alts docked in different gals they could access it only from the gal where they docked first.

The search bar would be in your posessions list. Much like the search bar in a user base for searching its inventory. The posession list would be replaced by search results, showing the name/alias for the ship and the number of items that match the search criteria. From there you would be able to right click on the ship and open its inventory already loaded with the search parameter.

Or it could even just bring up a list of all the items that match the search criteria, followed by the name of the posession that contains it. Either way works for me

Perhapse in the Possesions window you could click on the ships listed to view their contents... a search option for this window would allow a player to find an item and on which ships / bases that have it... you could then click a button for an "Account Search" enabling you to view items from all of your characters which will then include:

Character Name > Galaxy > Solar System > Station / planet > Ship / Base > Item

you could then click on the character or other levels to view the contents that way...

i dont think a shared bank should be used but i do think a search option that allows you to view contents of all your characters on 1 account would be neat

you could make the Account Search option availible to P2P but not to F2P preventing some exploits...
