Class skills where changed so that combat classes could still build bases. I do not see any reason why certain classes should still hold massive advantages in base building over others.

You can make stupid comments like "sniper is OP in pvai do they don't need to be good at base building", but it doesn't change the fact that pvai should not be a determining factor in how base building works. Let's look at someone with no class skills whatsoever. They should theoretically be the best at base building according to that comment, yet they aren't. Shouldn't the fact that they suck in pvai make it so they are beast in base building?

In any case all classes should be equal in terms of base building. This includes moving base gear. Even if it means getting rid of zerker having their travel fields on slaves, engi getting base bonuses, and sniper projectile speed on bases.

kiko nailed it. You can't market SS as a sandbox game if combat classes affect building ability. I don't want to be flamed for making any of several radical suggestions to resolve this, but it's clear that something a bit drastic would need to happen to actually even the playing field for base-building. This spills over into storage ships too, by the way. The easiest thing I can think of is to make all storage-type ships (Gelato, Thatch, Sing Sphere) a new hull type that no class gives bonuses to, and boost their natural hull space to bring them to the level currently enjoyed by Support Focus. I'm not championing this change, but simply pointing out that something that drastic would have to happen if we wanted to call SS a sandbox game.

To the person who argued that Speed Demon DFs go faster than Engineer DFs, I'd like to point out that apart from even being able to transport one piece of Anni gear at all (difficult for SD DF), the salient figure is Speed x Capacity, in which Support Focus completely dominates Speed Demon.

I feel like an account wide storage would save a shitload of hassle, but would be hard to balance based on anything...


Something with unlimited hull space would be nice, but impossible with current game mechanics....Not sure what to do.

fuck sake shhhhh, remember last time someone noticed one class was unequal in trade slaves... you got the whole lot fucked up! admins will balls this up and give us flying cardboard boxes or some shit.

I love the class variations in haulers, it means I can use my class to make specialist setups. How many 1 char sd's in the game make anni bases? 0 thats how many.

Anni gear is just an example. It's more arduous to build as a 1 character SD, which I know from experience, even if you're just hauling Adonis gear.

Sadly, I would have to agree with this. Instead of making a small beef, the devmins have shown that they prefer ultimately to nerf everything.

Until the problems enk outlined are fixed, he has owned everyone that is against equalizing building.
