My idea is that players are given 2 missions training them on how to use slaves. There will be a set of missions for both trade slaves and combat slaves.

You will be given 1 combat slave, you will be asked to do the following with it:

Mission 1:
Guard a certain object
Put the slave back on Follow Me

Mission 2:
Put the slave on Attack Target then kill an unmanned ship/drone
Make the slave scoop the debris

Mission 3: Dock and Deactivate

Mission chain Reward: Slave Stasis 0

I was also wondering if RC0 could be unlocked to allow players to have 1 tech 0 combat and trade slave at no skill point cost. This would make the mission much easier to preset to new players without them sacrificing their precious rare skill points.

Slaves are a very unique and important aspect of this game, new players should learn about them almost immediately.
