target selection
When a ship flies over a sun, it's very tough to target it. It was sometimes tough in C1, but it's worse in C2. The targeting reticle extends a long way from large objects like stars, and it's also hard to target things that are within that reticle but not directly on the star.
Would it be possible to make the program "prefer" the smallest target when you click over a space that has several targets under it instead of preferring the biggest target? If you actually want the bigger target, it's not usually a big deal to click a part of it that isn't covered by the small target.

Re: target selection
I always thought it would be best for the game to select the nearest center of an object. So distance from center of the ship, sun, base or whatever would be the major factor in selection.
