If you (or someone you know) experienced this issue with todays patch. Its been fixed, but since your star sonata cannot open to actually begin the patching process.

You need to either manually run "patchbot.exe" in your ss2 folder or reinstall the game.

P.S. you do not need to redownload the full install if you already have it, it will run the patcher after the install and you'll have the fixed executable).

Cannot run star sonata because pgort100.DLL is lacking on your computer.

My SS worked fine after the patch earlier and I was able to log on. About 2minutes ago I switched accounts and then it made me download this update. When I try to play the game it now comes up with an error saying that pgort100.DLL is missing from my computer. Help?

the pgo*.dll has a fix uploaded, was an issue that happened because im stupidly tired and didnt upload the optimised exe (pgo stand for profile guided optimisations). If you re run patchbot or reinstall (no need to redownload unless patchbot doesnt work for you due to some incredibly tight ass firewalls). it should be fine now.

yea just right click on the SS2 icon open file location click on patchbot application and run it. For the computer iliterate like me

I've done two fresh installs and also ran patchbot. But I still can't open SS, before the login screen fully loads I get a "Crash Dump" error. Any thoughts on this?
