rly? Is this a bug, or is it legitly "ethereal"

It's neither.

It's:

1. Planets/Moons/Gates have noticeably smaller "shadows" and therefore what would have been met with a wall is free to pass through, mostly.

2. The Z-Axis allows shots to be tricked over the Planet/Moon/Sun at particular angles.

3. Large Drones and other things normally used to block shots can look disorienting. What looks like an edge sometimes isn't the edge, but rather some graphic extension of an edge that ended back there.


All in all, these make ethereal lasers less of an impact, and more of a nuisance. If shots can be hit pretty easily with a non ethereal weapon, the power points that made up the etherealness could have gone to other places, and yes, ethereal is a big PP sink.

Some weapons can be like 40% better overall if they were not ethereal....
