Nvidia Optimus lag issue
If you are running a laptop with an nvidia graphics card installed and the optimus energy saving system, you might be experiencing some lag in SS.
What optimus does is automatically control whether you are using the good nvidia graphics card or an integrated energy saver intel card. SS currently triggers the integrated card.
Here's the fix:
1. download the newest driver for your card, windows won't always update this driver automatically
2. open the nvidia control panel
3. click manage 3d settings (left) then the program settings tab (right)
4. click add (next to select a program to customize) and find starsonata (should be something like Users/User/AppData/Roaming )
5. select nvidia for your preffered processor.
Hope this helps anyone getting lag from this system.

Re: Nvidia Optimus lag issue
I'm not seeing the option to set nvidia as my preferred processor; I guess this means the fix doesn't apply to me?
The recent patch took my FPS on low down from 60 to 25-35, so I'm trying anything I can to remedy that...

Re: Nvidia Optimus lag issue
you wont see the option unless you have an nvidia gpu with the optimus feature.
Now as for your fps that lowered, ill need a bit more info as to what hardware are you running and or anything special about your pc configuration you can think off.

Re: Nvidia Optimus lag issue
I was having a major lag issue too and I have an antique GeForce2 Ultra card. I went to their website and downloaded the latest driver. Graphics are still shit, but the lag is gone.

2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Nvidia GeForce 9400 4 GB RAM Windows XP
The only other important bit I can think of is that this is a partition on a Mac machine. I just checked the Nvidia site and it claims my graphics card drivers are up to date.

Re: Nvidia Optimus lag issue
No, I'm in the right place. However, I have just noticed something worrisome. I am using a desktop machine but the NVIDIA control panel has a "Mobile" section that talks about extending my "notebook computer's" battery life. Is the NVIDIA GeForce 9400 really a graphics card for mobile devices, or did I somehow install the wrong drivers?
