Post What was it about c1 that made so many people like it?
I've been trying to figure it out but I just can't. I remember staying up to 5 in the morning playing Star sonata and when I finally got to bed, I was making lists in my head of things I had to do the next time I logged on. I just don't get that urge to go on anymore. So what is it? What made c1 so desirable?

For the most part, gameplay is the same. Only major change i can think of is the way bullets hit planets or go over them now. 2.5d stuff.

The default UI is hardly user friendly, I find it quite disorienting at times. Weapon graphics are also pretty ugly compared to C1 graphics, 3D doesn't necessarily mean a visual improvement :?

C1 graphics, models, and view, but C2 UI, Code, Zoom, and RTS for me.

Don't forget that a big change like C2 is a good excuse to quit for many people who were just hanging on by a thread.

The problem was that so many people disliked c1, not that they liked it.. No new players were joining. It was C2 or die.

It was a mix of RTS and 3rd person space shooter wrapped up in a MMORPG, the throw back to "outdated" graphical styling was a draw to anyone that didn't give two shits about "shiny", it's a small rather tight knit community and its an indy game.

C1 was more simple in gameplay and that is what made it enjoyable for me

Not really ugly, just... Yeah. It looks more user friendly, but it's not.
