SS2 Music
I was working on the music some today, trying to figure out which song should go where, so that I can get it all hooked up properly. This is what I have come up with so far:
Connection Dialog - Startup1 Starting the game - StarsonataThemev2 Docked - DockedMusic In a spirit/pod - Dead1 -> Dead2 Tutorial galaxies - Chill1 -> Chill2 Nexus Layer - Atmo1 -> atmo2 Celestial Garden Layer - Elkestra1 -> Elkestra2 Earthforce Layer - 123_1 -> 123_2 Wild Space - SpaceJazz1 -> SpaceJazz2 Perilous Space - TranceGlitch1 -> TranceGlitch2 DG's - Alieno Iq'Bana - i'bana1 -> iq'bana2 Uber Zone - Mystic1 -> Mystic2 Olympus - ? Copper - Amb1 -> Amb2 Anaconda - Amb1 -> Amb2 Puzzle Galaxies (Labyrinth, Reflector, Deflector, End of the Universe, XYZ, Empathy Field, Bio Empathy, Steppes, Ruby Steppes) - Chill1 -> Chill 2
(The C2 music is in /snd/bg and is with the .ogg extension)
Any thoughts on these assignments?

I was thinking of ambient sounds for being docked. The regular background music could lower in volume and some ambient stationy noises could play. If I can compress the files down enough, I'll email you what I have in mind.

I think that ideally each uber would have its own theme music; roaming ubers could have both ambient music that would override any other music when they warp into a galaxy, and attack music similar to that music. Of course, different styles for different ubers; marco could be some sort of epic orchestra music, while dark curse would be more like the link you posted

Would it be possible to have the music change when you were in the same galaxy as a roaming uber AI, or a DG uber AI (things like sputty, marco, ect), and he was aggro to you? Some kind of generic boss fight music to play when fighting them, regardless of location?

It would be possible, however, not sure if we have enough music variety for that and no code for that is currently implemented.
What we have now is each galaxy has specified music as well as log in, logged in, and docked at a base music.
