PvP is meaningless atm in game, so let's find out who is the best!

Once we get a list of entries, we'll randomly seed them and draw a single elimination tournament bracket. Then we'll arrange date and times for the matches.

*** Each match is a pure 1v1, ship v ship battle
*** No healers/alts/allies/slaves/drones are allowed to assist.
*** Each match will be a best-of-five series.
*** The FINAL will be best-of-seven.
*** Tweaking is instant disqualification from the tournament

More rules to come, 1 entry per player, so pick your best char.

Really no point of calling it a SD Tourney. Any Panther with a Blazing Mallet/Hammer will beat the crap out of any other Panther. Nearly every AWC will kick the shit out of the Panthers.

So, rename it "AWC SD PvP Tournament".


What you want to do is call a Tourney of 4 vs 4 people. Max of 2 T21's per squad. 1 Recon + 1 Fleet + 1 Support + 1 Combat vs the same idea for the other squad.

It says your best character. Not every SD that may want to play in a Tourney has an AWC.

Very hard to balance from Jace's PoV. What is much easier to balance is to host a squad(like, 5 people vs 5 other people) tourney, and limit the number of T21 ships fielded per squad.

That makes crazy things happen.
(Note: Never said T21 gear was limited, just not bloody 7 prawns to a side)

We can maybe look at modifications in future tournaments, but to keep this one simple it's just SD vs SD. Any level, any ship, any gear. The only limitation is you MUST be Speed Demon class.

Hopefully we get some good participation and able to record some good film of the matches.

I wont enter this. You cant pick a "best" SD through a 1v1 match.

You need to test the SD Vs Group. VS SD/sniper/MF/FC/gunner/Shm/anything.

The player that makes it though there the best IS the best.

1v1 SD proves really nothing since that player could just have a off day.

I got wex down to 1/4 then I ran out of shields!! I guess that makes me 3/4's of what wex is ... Dutch!

A true tournament needs to be something run by the SS staff and with awards, different brackets for people of different levels, ships and setups, etc.

Not seeing much point in a player-run tournament, especially as my SD is level 330 and wouldn't have a chance to become "best" in it.

If you don't stand a chance at being the best then don't enter...

It's not like your average Sunday pub league side tries to compete with United or Chelsea is it?

Aww cmon. If you don't like the rules, don't enter the tourney. Setup your own tournament. Stop bitching and give some credit to madrista for trying to arrange something cool.

This is probably going to devolve into a huge diffuser-tweak fest. The winner is the one who properly guessed what diffusers his opponent forgot to put on.
