Re: Compulsory test in order to join SS
As this delegate has pointed out there shall only be economic incentive for approving this resolution. Approving it will generate a fuzz in media/game world which will get us new players.
Please this delegate cannot dare to stress enough the importance of you signing the resolution. Make Star Sonata a better place, this resolution equals world peace, how can you be against world peace?

Re: Compulsory test in order to join SS
This is a silly idea and anyone who could be considered 'intelligent' would see why.

JeffL wanted and stated that SS(2) is moving towards the "Casual Playerbase". Hardcore Group peeps like Enk, Wex, and Shitarky need not apply.
The CPB is vastly larger than the HCG. And with a vastly larger membercount, we get vastly larger amounts of annoying to downside disrespectful fuckwits like:
1. DRAGON BOLT - Disrespectful is the only word that I can say without swears or ranting 2. Lilith - Talkative 3. Is - Very, Talkative 4. Lazarus - Would not shut up 5. Deathreus - If you played when he did, no explanation needed
List goes on. And on.
However, thats not the point. Looking from the perspective JeffL would have, do you really want to have these people, as annoying or insulting that they are, playing SS.
This is the one time that weeding them out would be a good thing. A new player would see the vulgar-ness or extreme annoyance, and while we don't particularly like it, will judge the book by its cover.
I remember about a year ago, a potential P2p did NOT go P2p because he saw that I had over 8000 posts. He quit believing the whole game was like me. Forum Spammers and Trolls. The whole game is not like that, but what do you think would happen if new players came across people like DRAGON BOLT or Deathreus? This is as far as I got in the thread, and I didn't read all of this post. I was too furious. First off, drop the smart ass "congress" talk. Secondly, it's a game, you want intellectual talk, go somewhere else Third, some of these people listed are good people, besides bolt. Fourth, pointing out people is extremely rude, and calling them "stupid" for wanting to talk is just evil Fifth, there's a reason why this doesn't exist yet, it would destroy almost all incoming players, they don't give a f*** if it's elite or not Sixth, just because someone is mentally disabled is no reason to hate or not let them play, they didn't choose their lifestyle, same with some uneducated people. Seventh, just no to the idea, too many loopholes, exploits. Not worth it And eighth, this would effectively make a majority of players hate you for ruining the party in this game, don't be such a perfectionist, Utopias don't exist.

Re: Compulsory test in order to join SS
The problem with this idea is that 90% of the SS devs couldn't pass any IQ test worth its salt.
Fearless leader has an IQ somewhere around an earth worm.
Aurora Ex Machina has an IQ that makes an amoeba look like a freeking genius.
Graphic designer(s) need to stick to finger painting. Except for the player designed ships C2 graphics are totally SHIT.
Content developers have lost sight of a simple fact: Not everyone can sit at their computers for 15 hrs in order to complete an AI run.
Soooooooooooooooo the question is who would develop such a test? I vote for an over the counter Mensa test. Score 80% and you're in.
In the long run C2 is its own limiting factor. It's soooo bad that long time players are leaving in droves and new players will try the game for free for about a week and move on.
If the devs don't stop treating C2 as a sacred cow SS is doomed.

Re: Compulsory test in order to join SS
I love how everyone is insulting Aurora now. /sarcasm
Just because she has beliefs that you might consider to be wrong doesn't mean she's stupid; in fact, she has shown herself to be very intelligent. She's not always right, but that's beside the point.
And just because she has a tendency to point out the most outrageous flaws in your posts(Rather cuttingly, I might add...she could be a bit nicer...) doesn't mean you need to insult her. Hate leads to hate, and it all ends in tears in the end.
As for the test, it's a funny idea, but i sincerely doubt it will ever be added. Jeff is too desperate for ANY customers at this point to even consider it. Well, maybe not desperate, but he wants them bad.
