Unfortunate mistake, I've done the same with a couple of ubers, it sucks but its not broken in any way.

The mechanic is not broken. I guess the system for mother cant be changed just to suit one guy's strategy.

only good an engine would be is to avoid shots, if you are tanking then you arent avoiding shots. right?

I've done Mother several times and never resorted to warp hopping. Tank it!

the simplest strategy i know that involving tanking it uses three characters, and ends up dpsing it very quickly. I've done it a half dozen times at least. I expect there are other schemes which could also tank it and dps it with fewer than that, but why bother when you can multi 3?

I can do it with 2 pretty efficiently using some mad tractoring skillz.
