Post Give SD's faster bullets!
In the skill, give +20% bullet speed/level!

In addition, give their bullets 1 degree firing arc per level(IE bullets start out shooting towards the target rather than straight ahead and turning.) At level 20 it would be able to autotrack 10 degrees to either side of the pointy end of the ship!

Because dogfights are fun!

Wow, three replies and nothing from enkelin? Something must be wrong ...

I don't like this idea. I thought it was a nice bonus to sniper, but not for SD. SD's are 'supposed' to use beam weaponry this would be pointless. I personally think that SD is one of the more balanced classes ingame, infact, the most balanced and doesn't need a change. However, if you must do something it would have to be along the lines of +Beam Weaponry Damage, if that, and the removing the +10% Crit-Hit chance.

False, they're just helpful against speedy targets. Zerkers typically engage SDs with beam weapons too, you know. Conversely, non-beam weapons can be very effective for SDs against slower targets, due to typically higher DPS than beam weapons can give.

That is what the skills imply. Therefore any further skill changes should also be in sync with the classes original purpose. If a class changes over the course f the game as a result of players, gear or tactics the skills should NOT be modified to compensate, only in the case of a useless class would that be acceptable.

Well, here's the thing...with this suggestion, bullets would have 400% higher speed, as compared to snipers 100% faster bullets. Hence the pre-launch tracking idea, so they have to Aim, but not necessarily absolutely perfectly to hit.

See, at the moment as a SD if you fly in to your target and try flying around them shooting bullets, momentum makes all the bullets go flying out away even if you're aiming straight at your target. Up the bullet speed and that wouldn't happen anymore!

As compared to currently which pretty much entails "jousting" at your target.



At TW, beams are already the ideal for a SD, so there's no reason for them to get any boosts to them. It would be like...giving bonuses to snipers for using weapons that have long range. We already use them, so you might as well just beef the class in general instead, rather than making it even more unlikely for us to use a different type of weapon. Y'know?

I'm struggling to see how SD needs this (what I see as a beef). They don't need to be able to use every weapon effectively?

I agree with Timmeh, SD is fine. If any classes need looking into, it's Gunner then Seer imo.

Well, what I want ideally is a situation where SD vs SD bullet combat comes into existance. The reason i say THAT is because I once had an epic fight in my bule saudaron vs a SD with a 3-shot in an AWC, and even though he could kill me in a few hits, because i was so fast and agile i could dodge his bullets and do damage to him of my own.

I couldn't actually break him, but that's a different matter :lol:


I just thought it was really fun, so i thought it would be great to give the class incentive to do it more often.

Yeah, but wouldn't that be exactly the same thing, except limited to like 4 weapons? If they did this then ALL pulses could be used in this way, massively expanding the potential content.
