Post democratic muting
If a high enough percentage of the currently logged on p2p playerbase uses /ignore for someone mute them.

easy.

abusable, sure but if peeps spammed accounts for this I'm sure admins could take action.

Will not happen. People have the freedom to speech, and say what they want, as long as they are following the rules. The majority of the uses of the ignore command is based on annoyance and hating, which is not against the rules. If someone is spamming a lot, they will get muted eventually, as constantly spamming is against the rules.

bleh freedom of speech isn't all that inalienable.

I posted this because one player was blathering away in all for a long time, not muteable but frustrating. If say 10% of the online p2p community didn't want to hear them then an auto mute from All wouldn't be unreasonable.

the rules work

but moderators sometimes make mistakes

personally i'd rather a system where multiple moderators need to approve a mute, depending on how many are online at the time

several times i've gotten mutes and had to send in a ticket to get the admins to look at the chat records and see what i said in context, if multiple moderators need to approve a mute then important details are less likely to be missed

also, ominous warnings in the chats each time a moderator decides to vote to mute you, would be a pretty powerful psychological tool to get people to follow the rules/stop spamming.

Never going to happen people would try and mute people for no reason. It would be a popularity contest to keep your voice.
