Post C2 Suggestion: Targeting Circle
It looks Dull in C2.

is it possible that the targeting ring can be a 3D Design?
If so, it'd look way way better.

perhaps just give it an animation where it glows lighter and darker, or a light goes in a circle around the circle quickly, just to better recognize where you are currently targeting, and to look a bit newer?

I think the target rings are pretty good as they are, but I definitely agree that the current health bars are pretty weak. If you have a suggestion on the health bars, feel free to submit an image/mockup.

Maybe have it rotate to conform to your angle? So it always face you?

Then add ability to set translucence so when you want to see scenery (movies, vids), you can make it more transparent, but in general fighting (ubers, leveling), you max it out so you can see the shield/energy of your buddies.

Make it so called billboard so it always face the camera and add 2 inner circles like on Javatech's image, blue circle for target's shield, yellow for energy.

That wolnt work properly. As you may notice small ships have target rings that are quite narrow and small. Also having large rings around every ship in the game would be crazy annoying. It may be visually appealing in a small scope, but I dont see it working on a large scale.
