After losing my Fwing once and the admins refusing to replace it I was pissed. But, thanks to the playerbase's kindness and support I was persuaded to stay. I then replaced it.
But after losing my prized possession(s) **again** to a bug, I decided that this is ridiculous, and have decided to take my custom elsewhere. If Ligthning lost his Wardens, would he still play? Ravens DS.. Junkies BSS. Think of your favourite ship, favourite piece of equipment. If it just dissapeared and you knew that you'd have to spend a lot of effort to get it back, and that it could easily just dissapear again, what would you think?

I would continue if I lost my BSS.

However, if we had lost Emp run due to GAME failure. I would have quit.

Not if other players had ruined, but if the game itself in some way through bugs had caused us too loose, then Yes, I would have left.

I lost a lotta gear on my full anda Z base, few unis back, and the total loss was greater than the cost of every base I ever built, lol
yet I play still, I just took a break for a couple days to cool down and played on a n00bie char when it happened, after I made a post on forums that is, which had to be edited, lol

Edit: I have also been beaten black and blue by tobal in SW3, and NW3 on several occasions, causing me to lose all my gear including weapons, I have lost entire galaxies a couple times, and I have been confined to my own galaxy once, but as they say, Sh*t happens man
so, I'd just play another char for a while, to spend time constructive, till I thought a plan to get my posessions and status back

I lost ALL my ships (except a serenity), to a bug once. This included an Exc Agl, Exc Speed, Exc Elect ZM, and some other REALLY valueable kit. I bitched and moaned, but got nothing back. Same thing happened to NAS2 2 weeks later, he got all his stuff back. I REALLY bitched and moaned about that, but did I quit? No, I stuck it out and started again.

Sadly I can't play for excessive amount of time, so the time I do get is precious. At the end of the day, I know NO other mmo out there that would even consider doing this to their players. They know that the playerbase are their lifeline to continue paying for their server and bandwidth, so they try to offer A++ service to keep as many people playing, and thus provide higher income to be able to afford to pay more admins, developers, customer service people.

Ever heard of Horizons? Nope? I played that a few years back, and it was buggier than SS (yes it is possible ;p). They only lasted a year because they couldn't satisfy their customers, and sadly, even though their cust. service was horrendous, it was better than this. Admittedly they did make some other big mistakes like misjudging how many players would join at the start and horribly overspent on their bandwidth, contributing to their demise. If SS doesn't realise these sort of things I can see them remaining a small fry in a big big sea of sharks. Surely the admins can see this?
