For the life of me, I couldn't find any of the 3 other topics I've made with this name that have never been answered... so here goes #4!

When tractoring Poseidon, he occasionally ignores the effects of tractor beams for a time and then suddenly comes back to reality and instantly accelerates to double max speed in the direction he's being tractored.

One of my teammates suggested this was the effect of a periodic weight tweak, which seems plausible but nonsensical since its only effect would be to cause Pos to fly out really far, and there are effects in the level which activate when Pos flies really far out that seem to indicate that shouldn't happen in a normal fight.

This has been going on since the beginning, and usually its effect varies (my assumption is, varies on server load, if this is in fact a desync type bug)

I don't think it's intentional since it's perfectly possible for AI to use grav blockers if they are supposed to achieve that effect, and since he warps around oddly after going extremely far out.

Yeah... wish we could get some admin response on this.

Sometimes my ship shoots out at max speed, its really retarded. I dont know if it has soemthing to do with tractors or not (I was not in an AI base).

Happens to me all the time. I know it's not an issue with my internet.

I still don't see how your issue is related to the OP's post. Unless you are talking about something that happens in the Poseidon boss room, you should make a new thread.

Basically he is suggesting that his problem and the Poseidon problem may be intertwined. It is not off topic.

Ok, let's do this. Shoots out of where? A base you're docked at? A wormhole? If it's either of those two things it's definitely not related to Poseidon, where the uber drifts while being tractored for periods of time and then suddenly receives the full impulse of the tractor.

Neither. I know from experience that it does not require warping or docking. It happens randomly when thrusting. It is not a desync issue because even if you tap thrust once you can shoot out at max speed, and there is no way the server could predict you holding the thrust key beforehand.

No, I fight AIs and all of a sudden me and the AIs go in a different direction at full speed (this occured quite a while, while I was leveling in hermes level).

don't really think thats related at all, Jey has said thats a client desync issue which obviously posiedon's client isnt lagging out.

Still a major issue, had pos floating 8k out during my first run today when he is supposed to recenter at like 4k lol... again this evening, completely ignoring the tractor beams and floating out like a punk.
