Primary Points:

1. Drones need a different destruction solution to make an engineer and his 6 drones' deaths worth about the same as any other class(2 slaves max included with the owner's death, others take normal repair costs)

I believe Drone Generators and death based on the tech of the ship should solve all the problems related to this.


2. Aggro in Perilous Space should not include bases unless you're attacking a team that owns either or both of Bio/Emp Bio.

We don't want bases to get involved. Fine, the base will deny docking if it's a public dock, but it should not shoot back if the attack was done in Perilous Space.


3. Aggro gained from PvPing IN Perilous Space should cool off much faster than in Wild Space.

Again, limiting repercussions to those who want to pvp in perilous Space from interfering with Wild Space as much.


4. Perilous Space is full unrestricted PvP Range. Don't like getting shot, bring friends or use a stealth class.



Secondary Points:

1. Classes should have a great amount of encouraged gameplay styles instead of catering to one specific design. For example, a Shield Vampire, stealing shields from enemies to invigorate him or her self, but otherwise very limited healing ability.


2. PvP is encouraged, with a new system to replace the Glory/Infamy. Similar to EVE's Killmails, an auto-post to your kill tab in character window that shows you the last (up to 100) kills you've done (including pods) wit general stats like speed, resists, shield, regen, range, and dps.

So saying "I killed wex's panther blah blah" can be looked up as "I killed wex's travel panther" so you cannot hide behind tricky words to bolster a rep.

But also a server managed bounty system in which inflicts heavier and heavier repair costs on a pvper, so people can prey on the pirate and make money off of them, that won't be adding money to the system.

Which is why I put in my points.

I like the idea of pvp in a specific zone, without getting bases involved. However I know that some people will object to pvp, others will war people, and a few will quit.

To prevent this as much as possible, people need to have limited GEAR losses. I understand that it was a major incentive to pvp, but not everyone can take 50b losses each day and keep on dying.

Drones are counted as gear.


My idea was that the tech of the ship(and up to 2 slaves) are counted towards one death (5% durability) deducted from the player. Stats of items are affect at 50% and 5% durability as right now, but the gear won't be repaired; the ship will. I think not that Kane can afford a new Hermes ship every 20 deaths, so people will repair their best ships.

90% of the repair costs would be added to the killer's personal on hand fund. That takes money out of the system and prevents abuse. The more a person kills unprovoked (by aggro or by wars), the greater the repair costs become for said player, and therefore the greater and greater incentive for someone to chase him down and kill him. This "bounty" only goes down by the amount of times you die (half of what you kill), to prevent longer term hate and bounty problems.


Drones, if based from a Drone Generator, would solve the entire problem of engineers and pvp. You build the generator or obtain it in the same way a zerk or gunner gets a new weapon. You equip it as if it was a weapon(Max of 18 for freighters). You charge it up as if it was a super-item, and use it as if it was a super-item.

This one generator deploys exactly one drone. If you want to deploy 6 Titan Drones, you need 6 Titan Drone Generators. Killing or letting this one drone expire puts the item on cooldown for X seconds. Afterwards, you can recharge the item.

Generators mean that there can be a sort "downtime" to engineer as there is when you kill a Monk's slaves. An engineer that wants to spend oodles of cash could have as many Generators as he likes (as long as he has elect and hull to hold and charge new gens as he changes dead ones out).

But in the end, the engineer can play a bit more aggressively. And take the same losses per death as any other class.
