Alright, now that live client is stable, were back to releasing beta clients.

* performance optimizations aimed at uz. This is not complete yet, as different people seem to have very different lags from uz. But this is an optimisation that gained an extra 20-30fps on one of my test machines in uz, so its a good start.
* gui rendering optimization are still in progress as well (begun in beta 182, but were disabled for live client).
* added some code that will automatically update the beta client on newer releases.



If your beta client did not patch automaticly, use the "check for update" shortcut in your start menu (depending on when you installed the beta client, it might already have the fix to do the auto update).

I don't have a Start menu because I'm using wine. Can I just run the patchbot in the beta client's folder to achieve the same effect?

yea, so long as your patchbot.ini contain beta as the url and not public. your fine.
