 Re: Tech level 4? Pirating other players is only really viable at higher levels. If you attempt it at lower levels then higher level characters will typically intercede, and you'll end up constantly fighting people who outgear and outskill you so thoroughly that you can't begin to take them on.
So if you do decide to go pirate, wait until you are much higher leveled and attack the bigger players so we can have fun too.

Re: Tech level 4? And thanks for the tip on Pirating  Those Paxinimus ones have a shield ability.....that's why they can't be killed as easily. so once the little shields go away, they can be hit again.

Re: Tech level 4? You seem to be confused with the terminology of Piracy and Pirating. AI pirates are just a sub-section, a grouping of AI types. Being a 'pirate' is about PvPing other players. The piracy (or earthforce) missions have nothing to do with your interactions with other players or AI later on. The skill Piracy is used to get more items and augmenters to drop from ships you kill, it won't affect your game play in any other way outside of that.

These newer weapons (Pulse Gun and Mag Cannon 2) seem like a waste.
is it possible to destroy these Paximinus freighters? I have the best weapons for my energy generator and nothing works. I was level 20 on beta and couldn't kill them either, I know how you feel. Just move on and kill space jellies for levels the paxes have too high shields
