sometimes I get a small lag spike when warping.

I highly doubt this has anything to do with the server or client. Might want to turn down your settings.

well me and wolfie both have the problem. i have a great computer and my settings are very high. i only get this when i warp into a galaxy with lots of asteroids and warps and suns etc.

The first time you warp after running the client, I get a huge gigantic lag. That's because it's loading all the models and textures in the new galaxy. This is a known bug/problem. We will have to implement some kind of pre-fetching of resources in adjacent galaxies at some point.

I have noticed though on my local server i get like zero lag, its really fun to warp back and forth with that effect =P, though this may be due to the realitive simplicity of the galaxys that are conected. So there may be something to the lag spikes.
