lol? I'm looking at both right now, and "very similar" is just wrong. They both have a long front section/nose cone, so what? The similarity stops there.

As far as using the ships right out of FS? No. But there is nothing wrong with taking inspiration from the game to make new ships.

Active copyright or no, it's still reusing someone else's old models rather than making new ones unique to SS2 - even if some SS models are inspired by other games - it's just bad form to reuse old ones and it would detract from the game. There is very little true originality left in most career fields however(most forms of digital media including game dev, digital music, films etc.), as people subconsciously draw on things they've seen or experienced before. So they may not even realize they are creating something similar to something they've seen in the past. Eventually, there will have to be a re-work of how the current copyright system works, as creations will begin to overlap. That being said, there is nothing wrong with being inspired by other peoples work. If we weren't, we would never progress technologically. But these ships don't really fit in with the theme of SS. I would like to know how many polys they are though, as I prefer the rigid look myself opposed to the smooth look that a lot of ships have. They are spaceships, they don't need to be aerodynamic.
