Someone in a suggestion post mentioned new Oly ships.
(http://www.starsonata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=48694 4th post)

So I present the first of my ideas for new Oly ships. Starting with the Zeus Throne (doesn't look like much of a cap ship, but then again, neither did the last one)
The texture could use work. I was planning on making a glow map for it, but i can't export to obj files right now... so.... It uses the old Zeus texture. (I hate texturing :D )

No offense, but I highly doubt that will ever be put ingame.

I love the effort. I don't exactly want to see a 100% deviation from the current Oly ship designs but some obvious way to tell each one apart would be cool.

~ I actually personally love this ship design. With a bit of tweaking, it looks really promising :3
~ Reminds me of the SC Rakshasa from FreeSpace 2: Image

~ EDIT: now that I think of it it looks like you mixed the two together...

Downside is it looks nothing like anything in SS, it just doesn't fit. Not to mention we can't just rip models from other games...

Some minor texture changes to make the lighting on the ships' hulls would be nice. Just something like an overlay with hull panel textures would be great.

Pancake*

I didn't mind it - Needs some refining though. However, I felt it was too streamline for a Zeus Throne.

I kind of looks like an AWC+PW mixed together. 'Slimness' off the AWC but length of the PW.

Timmeh!

Actually, we can. When the company that made FreeSpace 2 shut down, they released the source code for anyone who wanted it. 12 years later, there's still a large modding community based around it, and all the original models are free to use.

They don't have a place in SS with their current forms. They would need new textures and tweaking to fit in, even if they had their own zone. However, as i stated in the other thread, i am a fan of more "rigid" models opposed to the turbo-smoothed approach that many ships have currently.
