Post Monthly Event Weekend Feedback & Suggestions
So on Friday we launched the first monthly event weekend. This month's event weekend was Double Experience points. While it got off to a rocky start at midnight on Friday the rest of the weekend went off perfectly from an Admin perspective. But we'd love to know your thoughts on the event!

In addition to feedback on this weekend's event we'd love to hear if you have any ideas for improvements or future events.

When making a suggestion for an event type (Double EXP or Mod chances are examples) it'd be helpful if you tagged your post with either passive (no direct participation required) or active (direct participation required).

I.E.
Double EXP [Active]
Double Mod Chance [Active]
Increased workforce speeds [Passive]

It was a fun weekend leveling. Finally pushed an alt to 500 and pushed a main character to 2050.

Though I have to comment that a monthly event still leaves the abuse with unsubbed accounts owning bases/colonies and being left alone (When was the last time a team like RF or Zephyr truly had a major war that threatened their bases?)

"Oh, double exp? *Subs one of 5 base owning accounts to level an alt to get enough sp to expand trade slave routes*"


Perhaps make it random weekly weekend events? Just to shake things up and keep people active. (Which discourages more abuse on colonies)



As for suggestions for new events:

1. Random incursions from Grinch and Present AI, or Narwhal and Pumpkin AI. (Random spawns for each Grinch/Narwhal respawn) [Active]

2. Natural Disasters on Planets for fluctuating suitabilities of positive and negative [Active and Passive]

3. Increase Half-Life/Reduce Fuel Usage by 50% [Passive]

I'm all for monthly events, I really loved this one.

For future ones though, I would focus on the ENTIRE playerbase. Like indeed the double exp and double mod chance etc. Not random ubers. This should be for the entire playerbase, encourages lower levels to play more too.

I'd like an event in which you can buy unique items. Like an item that makes your ship glow a certain colour :P Only available to get for that 1 weekend. Just for showering off.

This weekend was a huge success. Congrats.

How about retro Skill Points on level up. (5 instead of 4) Normal exp gained per kill of course. [Active]

Double Credits on drops [Active]

Lockouts are 4 hours max on everything [Active/Passive]

The weekend was great, its the first time I've gone seriously lvling since... ever. :P
Most of my ideas have been said by other people already.
Double player damage (active)
Double player range (active)
Half ai health (active)

I also had the idea of a weekend event that isn't actually helpful for players but makes it an interesting challange, not really sure what you could do for that but I was thinking 1 scenaio was all ai have random agro or something like that.

Guild Wars has been doing monthly events for years, and they're a tried and true method to increase the amount of people playing. Some recommendations I have for other weekend events:

Double Aug Drop
Double Commod drop
3x credit drop on AI


Also, I think that you guys should try a sort of flavor of the month. For example, this month weapons do 1.1x damage
Shields regenerate 1.15x faster
Etc etc

Couple of general boosts:

1) double mission rewards (probably impractical/unfair)
2) double credit drops
3) everything bumped up a couple df on the loot tables

for something different:
1) workers work doubletime (workers do 2 manhours per worker instead of one)
2) half-time spawns in pspace (ai spawns twice as fast as normal)

The Event was good but should have been better announced.


Future events should all have to do with active content NOT passive.

A few suggestions, some have allready been mentioned:
Double mod chance for dg drops and ruins extracted
Double credit drops from DG bosses and ubers
10 hour lockouts on all ubers for 72 hours
Double chance of Aug drops from DG bosses
Double chance of Dement/frag drops from all AI
Double chance of ship commods from all Ais that normally drop them (not oly to broken)
Double chance of loot drop from all DG bosses and ubers
Double chance of drops of special commods from ais (ZaCs, Dark remains, astrologica booms, webbing)
Comets spawning all over perilous space that can be mined for special commods (dimond, ada, energon, dark matter and so on).
