I think SD would be pretty cool with +projectile speed (it is speed demon after all), or maybe extra tracking and damage for pulse weapons.

Another thought would be initial tracking. Or whatever it is called. This would make projectile weapons fire towards the enemy even if the SD is turned away, but they wouldn't have infinity tracking after they start moving to the enemy.

For example, the mag turret always fires the bullet towards the enemy, but this wouldn't have a big tracking bonus after the initial shot. Similar to how the retreator always fires backwards.

AEM explained that there is no initial tracking stat, at least not the way you describe. It doesn't matter though because initial tracking on pulse weapons would actually be unproductive for SD. You need to be able to lead your target, which is impossible if the game decides what direction to shoot.

Why limit at a single "4th" skill? Why not make a separate (but smaller, only 1 skill with 1 branch each) fork off of the existing classes where you get to choose a "specialization" of sorts, but you can only pick one specialization or the other?

So as an example, the recon focus tree looks something like this:

recon focus ----> speed demon
|
OR
|
------------------> seer

After the 4th sub skill the tree would look more like this:

recon focus ----> speed demon ----> ace of aces (+defense/speed/agility)
|...............................|
|..............................OR-----------> raging demon (+damage/crit strength)
|
OR
|
|...............................OR-----------> fortune teller (+ crit str/crit chance)
|...............................|
------------------> seer --------------> beholder (+radar/firing/resistances)


Each class would of course get something like this, but again, if you get the fortune teller skill as a seer, you cannot get any levels in beholder. If you get any points in raging demon, you can't get any points in ace of aces. Etc.

That's exactly what I was going for, skyfyre. In my opinion it should kick in immediately after T20 instead of the T21 class skills we currently have, but at any rate I would prefer to have special mutually exclusive advanced skills as opposed to a whole 4th subskill.

This made me think of Lagrange gal and its set of skills to sink skill points into, if you made the lagrange skills leveled up not increase the rest of the skills in ai base to cost more in the way it is but instead make it setup like the cost increase structure of Pluto ai base skills. People well spend lots of skill points getting multiple damage controls to lvl 25 or damage soak skills to 25.

beserker: "cumulative damage"

as you hit a target, its vulnerability to the damage type you're using increases. at level 20, vulnerability should increase at 0.1% per hit, meaning 1000 hits would double the vulnerability. (it should cap at double, perhaps less, with the cap scaling with the level of the skill)

the effect should wear off in "half lives", with the decay rate being dependant on the total effect.

at max vulnerability, the effect would reduce at 1% per second

at half, it would reduce at 0.5% per second

if it sounds broken, keep in mind that if in PvP, you get hit 1000 times by a beserker, you're either dead already, or being healed, and the beserker is probably out of elec.

That cumulative damage thing sounds more like a Gunner of Seer trait in my opinion.

Give Speed Demon a skill that increases Damage and decreases Elec Temp for 15 seconds after killing a target. Killing a target will make the effect stack in intensity and reset the timer.

For, you know, effective spawn killing and such.
