Useful base auras, not the dinky things that you call radiation fields, or a beef to them. As of right now, noone comes that close to a base to be affected by them, especially snipers being the long range class.

Very true, They are short ranged and underpowered. Base missiles also have to be made useful.

Maybe you could add new affects to the base auras? stuff like mini mad or perhaps negative effects to firing speed, damage, or extra transference resistance(A double edged sword I know).

Jeff is quite against me doing auras, because the icons then appear on everything and make things confusing and cluttered. Which I agree on, so I'm only doing short ranged auras (<500).

That's a fundamental display problem with auras, which are an interesting and (imo) integral game mechanic, which could be resolved a number of different ways that do not involve discontinuing their use...

Probably a waste of time then, to be effective auras have to have range.

Slightly off topic, currently there is a huge shortage of suitable augs for building into base augs, particularly Recovery augs are u addressing that issue?
How aboutbuildable standard kits that already have the aug stats built in but which do not take the the augs to build.
eg replace the andaman kit with 2 versions, a dps kit and a healer kit.

Not necessarily, look at aura gens like the Highway Drone, Mini Madness, Undead Protection, Ismail's Presence, Santa's Presense, the Sergeant Enforcer aura.

On the other hand, I've already made a few auras, and not doing more less they're either short ranged (and not broken), or good ideas (and thus short ranged-ness isn't such an issue).

Still haven't seen many non-base items, base related ideas.

Would love to see a dedicated assault kit. Possibly give it some built in hostility, higher max speed, a few other goodies I cannot imagine at this very tired second but allow it to only be deployable in an enemy gal you are at war with, 1 per galaxy maximum and the galaxy cannot be owned until this base is destoryed/abandoned.

Pretty much a kit with a few built in bonuses over a equal tech/ability kit which can only ever be used in an attack.

What sort of items do you mean? Let me know and I'll think of some ideas for you. :P

Transport ships, permanent drones, potential slave ships, and things to help in PvB.

Class- or Focus-locked transport ships for Recon and Combat that allow you to reasonably lay a high tech kit. Calling SS a sandbox game is still a joke due to class disparity for building.

Is there an achillies drone? That'd be cool. Also a t20 mining wep with stats designed for base killing. And along the lines of t20 weps, mabye a new parasite wep?

I'd like a very slow traveling (think lion V2 rocket) base radiation pulse, something with high damage, meant for capping bases during sieges. Also, maybe instead of not making any more galaxy-wide auras, you should fix the way they display to make it less horribly obnoxious? As an FC, I'm tired of seeing spinning clouds of bits around every ship in the galaxy when I fight, regardless of whether or not there are bases involved.

This reminded me of an idea I had a while ago.
Blockade drones t16-20 (w.e.) temporary drones with mining damage that have large shields and do large amounts of mining damage. (designed for killing bases at very close range)

Also (not being a droner) if there's not already one out there, a high level rad drone for capping bases. (designed to do just enough damage to cap but not to be abused and used to take the base down from 100% health.
