how about the trade slaves/extractors/bases, etc. get deactivated a few days after the sub expires?

That way, one can have some leeway if one isn't able to sub back immediately.

Also like seeing UrQa Vazuk Qii shoot him self in the foot every time something that devalues the game that happens or is suggested.

Don't know why we don't go back to a windows 98 server where its ran from Jeff house, I'm sure the game will run smooth on it!

Also like to know wtf is making JeffL think this way, where all players should be caged and charged the same amount for less things.

umm could you give that like a 3 day cooldown Jeff, so if the account has not been subbed for 3 days? I mean I would hate to see my galaxy fucked up due to my ration supply system getting screwed over because i had one of my accounts unsubbed for a day.

Honestly, I don't see this as a big deal at all. How many people actually do this? Sounds like it could just have negative effects rather then fixing a percieved problem.

A few days should be fine, pay attention if you want the benefits. The less afk the game is, the better.

Hmm...because your mother/father/grandmom/dad has medical issues and you have to leave RIGHT AWAY, your team gets crippled?

And dont tell me it wont happen, on my team it HAS happened. If the person had gone unsubbed, and this had happened, our whole team would have been screwed over.

A week at least.

Cygnus is correct. The idea is dumb itself considering you can make more money off of characters than you can bases. So, the account is crippled from the get-go if unsubbed.

Making someone lose all their shot because they were away for 2 weeks is more likely to cause a rage quit than anything else. Trade skills dimishing is more than effective enough so leave it as-is.

It's not like I am forwarding an agenda here either, everyone knows that I absolutely hate colonies.

It shouldn't matter, you don't have to physically log in, you just have to pay the bill! The people most affected by this aren't they casual gamer that is going to rage quit, they'll have their slave systems and colonies set up and know what they are doing. It's pretty simple, if you expect to benefit in game, pay the sub - you can subscribe, pay up to a year in advance, arrange a teamie to cover it, etc. So set something up - there is no excuse.

You can't expect to take something for nothing, just pay the damn bills on time and you can keep your colonies running, afk or not.

Well re-reading what you said above shawn, I think a week is agreeable. I might be trigger happy on the flame button when shawn is around :D
