Rollback was a suggestion, nothing more. I only mentioned it because some players were saying that they would not be building bases at all during the temp uni.

a big thanks to the admins for starting the beta without any backup plans!

i suggested backup plans be put in place, but they're far too smart to listen to me, and what would i know? i only play videogames, and get frustrated when the game gets frustrating and unfun, how could the ability to recognise when something isnt fun, be of any use when making a game?

and whats the use of backup plans? if one tiny thing in the beta is wrong then the whole beta deserves to crash and burn, how else would the admins know that SS2 isnt ready to go live? (not the client, but the changes to the game/uni and the SP system)

Jeff I have no interest in playing in a "temp" universe. Can you put my account on hold until a "real" universe is formed?

The Temp universe is really supposed to be for everyone (especially those who didn't play in the beta) to get used to the new client and UI before having to do a uni rush in the new client.

Yeah, if you have no interest in playing in the temporary universe, then you can't expect to get much help from the administration when the real universe kicks in, and you find yourself unfamiliar with the new added features and changes that are presented in this temporary universe.

As said a few pages ago, its not the first temp universe SS had. With big changes come big bugs !, we fixed a huge lot of those evil thingies, but as we all know, its never enough.

As far as rollbacking the save would go after the temp uni. thats a big no. Its not test server uni, its plain simply, a week long live uni. I strongly discourage building anything serious, i know i wont have anything out except a few t16 i guess.

This temp uni serve 2 very important goals.

1. It give the players a week to get used to C2 before a real uni rush start (you know, the time of the uni where every seconds count?!)

2. It give us (the devs), a chance to fix any issues that could / will happen on reset with C2, especially considering a lot of the end game stuff was not as tested completly (we tested a bunch, but we have our limits too).

Now for the people who are thinking.. but Jey... why not push the release some more so you guys can keep on fixing stuff, my answer is quite simple,
just about all of the important stuff will be fixed before release.

For the past few weeks, most of our time was spent implementing features that are not really required for launch. This bring 2 issues:
First, more features added at one time, mean even more possible cause of bugs which is bad :P.
Secondly, The more C2 only stuff we add, the harder it get to work on the server, which essentially mean, that the longer we keep supporting both C1 and C2, the slower we can get things done.

Now if some of you cant stand the thought of playing a week long uni, your in luck there is a shit ton of good games coming out :P. Although wouldn't that mean that all you planned to do to begin with would be... build your colos and go inactive for the rest of the uni ? I mean... why else would only having 1 week of uni time be such a big issue, its not like you cant do uber runs, or pvp, or dg's or trade.

While i agree that a week-long uni is a great time to get some experience with the new system, is there any chance we could have some incentive to actually do so, since we wont be making any money at it?

For example, increased rate of colony growth and MANY more ruins? That way you would have great incentive to build a few colonies if only to get some cool ruins for a few days!

Jesus people, this isnt the first time we have done this.

Just relax and either take the week to experiment with some crappy bases, do some DGs, do Oly, do Maus, and maybe go outside and take a walk. It will be ok to not have colos for one week, thats really the only thing that you can't do during this time. Just stop it, you are starting to sound spoiled...
