Well removing vollie diffusers would go a long way towards simplifying and subsequently beefing energy and lasers. Expect LOADS of complaints about stuff like emp and MS. But it would be easier to balance their respective powers if you don't have to worry about vollies.

Maybe give Emp a stronger OL, and change the weapon to an Achilles SL?

DC would actually become dangerous to visible classes.


The way I see it, there should be only Phys, Heat, Surg, Rad, and Mining damage for damaging weapons. In order compared to sizes for most effective damage. Physical would continue to beat the crap out of LF's, while mining would crack capships....and Surg the middle ground.

Then Crits being for specific weapons, not damage types. This would mean Seer would get the vast majority of disabling crit weapons.


But...I doubt this'll go in.

Yes, remove volis.

I don't bother with volis for anything other than pvb now :/ (and oly when I remember)...

For everything else a halfarsed shm will easily outheal the dps.

Honestly, I don't think lasers are that bad since the rebalance, I just think people are so used to them being awful they don't even bother to try them. Their DPE is rather low, but there are still several usable ones (Merc Emission and Omega Beam are both nice, zeus bolt isn't too bad either). This is for an FC, not sure how zerkers do with them.

That seems unrelated to what I was saying about gunners and mining weapons. Gunners should use mining damage as their skills give them bonuses to mining damage, and gunners cannot fit Andaman Z Lasers.
