EFBC is sometimes called Durex, both for its extreme durability and condom-like shape.

After 5 markings of inappropriate, it will get sent in as inappropriate for admins to check out. In this way it can't be abusable. "Hey, let's go mark this guy's base so it gets removed :o"

Just make it turn back to normal base image after 5 reports? Until admins Clear it (if it's fine) or Deny it, in which case it'll just stay as a normal base image for that kit.

According to the screenies and videos of C2 that I've seen, bases will look so different there that custom skins would not be nearly as good an idea as they would be with the current boring bases.

I love the idea of custom ship skins, but how many people can really make a nice skin for a 3D ship?

Assuming that theyre going to give us the texture pics, and I'm pretty sure this will be the case, it's not all too hard to do really. It's just painting over an image, inside of the lines. Of course trial and error counts here until you can really master how things will look exactly once they get thrown on a model.

i really don't see a need for some report system, we have one already, if people have a complaint they can send a ticket.. pretty much the same thing your asking for.

they would all have to be checked the same..

Id hope admins are nice enough to give us new station graphics.. that twitchy xenophobic little pill-bug is quite tiring after 4+ years..

the graphics would need changing anyway for C2.

Yeah, until someone paints the skin of his dread with a picture from a porn site. I believe skins would probably have to be pre-approved, like flags. Maybe it should cost a lot of credits to submit a skin to help prevent that sort of thing.

Any kind of skinning would need to be procedurally implemented else before long the client will grow to several gigs in size with all the custom textures people would submit.

Also I don't really support this kind of thing because some people just have bad taste or lack the ability to produce something refined. And others would create bad looking stuff on purpose for shits and giggles. I can already imagine seeing neon pink dreads and lime green zebras...

Also the manpower of overhauling of going though submissions and overhauling those that are good to end up ingame would be too great and not really worth the effort.

You could make it an upgraded ptp thing. Like "Want a custom skin? Pay five bucks and it's all yours."

That would dramatically reduce the amount of skins that are put through. Probably enough so that one person could moderate them.

broken.

ppl could just pay someone with credits to pay the bucks for them and get their pink ideas ready.

- Custom Skins can be Temp Loaded to your client while playing
- Yes I see how the modelers put all this hard work in the skins and then making every random person paint there ship plain pink an option would be tho have spots on your ship were you can pick a Picture
- You dont have to be a superheroe with photoshop to change a layed out skin
- Asking money (probebly based on level and for 20+ only) would make people not pick something like like full pink. And Make them pick something that not look extremely ugly
- 1 Paint a ship would be a other option

It just isn't going to happen ever, both for technical reasons and for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who might have checked out the online content for a game like Spore.

Will it at least be fairly easy to modify the images on our own computers, like it is right now?

Yes, you can change the images/textures/models and perhaps the layout if you know what your doing. You can do simple recolors just like in C1 of the textures but serrious edits will of course be more dificult because of the 3d aspect. Read through this post and the one about ship images for more information, basically its all been said before.

Im just curious, is there any chance that one of those bars could show PWI cooldowns, if you set your PWI as a hotkey?
