in C2, general tabs of SP bases should play weebl's magical trevor clips :D

or at least, base owner should be able to replace the image there

That would require an admin to approve every base image.

Will C2 make use of multiple processors and graphics cards?

As of right now, no.

Now that really is a shame...

I don't know of many games that take advantage of multiple processors, to be honest. It's really unnecessary. Multiple graphics cards should happen automatically if they're SLI/Crossfired.

Not many do, but the ones that have the code for it tend to run better.

A list i've stolen off the net somewhere :

Quote:
• Supreme Commander (THQ/Gas Powered Games)
• BioShock (2K Games/ Irrational Games)
• Microsoft Flight Sim X – (MGS)
• Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (Ubisoft/ GRIN)
• Stranglehold (Midway)
• Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (Activision/ iD/ Splash Damage)
• Assassin’s Creed (Ubisoft)
• Warhammer MMORPG (EA/Mythic)
• Unreal Tournament 3 (Midway)
• The Witcher (Atari/CD Projekt)
• Half-Life 2: Episode II (Valve)
• Tabula Rasa (NC Soft)
• World in Conflict (Vivendi/Sierra)
• Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (Gearbox/ Ubisoft)
• Fury (Auran/Gamecock)
• Alan Wake (MGS/ Remedy)

Since that post, you can add a few more, such as most Valve games and also WoW.

Just because SS is a small-time, bordering indie retro game is no reason why you can't push the boundaries a little. It's about being innovative and delivering things that people wouldn't normally expect.

You also need to think about utilising 64-bit. With the way things are going, everyone will be running 64-bit OS's in about 5 years. Considering that it's taken you guys about that long to even release C2, it would be a shame not to future-proof your product and have the code ready for full 64-bit utilisation and multi-threading.

If you want to come on IRC we can continue this discussion on there. No point in boring people with it here.

would be nice to be able to make a server side ship skin for your ship (skin not moddel) or base skins/pictures

And a option would always be to make a report this button

Report ->
O - Pornographic Continent
O - Violence Continent
O - Other

Etc

A pornographic continent.... I'm moving there.

I think you meant content :)

And why would violence be a reason? Unless it'd be a gore scene.
But yeah, player base can report it. More than 5 people marking it as bad, and it'll be removed.

I kinda wonder how many people would report the didius eneptus as 'pornographic continent'. I mean, really if a ship is literally two extended sagging boobies, what else could be offending? And what about the Mzungu Acaolite (spelling)? Its basically just a flying green cock.

If the admins were really worried about pornographic content in game, maybe some ship images should have been better thought out.

EFBC and KMF were also considered and called dildos.

Im pushing to re-name the didus to the "noob boob" its not working too well though.

I like Dia's idea, people tend to be quick to notify when something offends them.

squint at whatever you like, and with a bit of imagination you can find something indecent about it :P

After 5 markings of inappropriate, it will get sent in as inappropriate for admins to check out. In this way it can't be abusable. "Hey, let's go mark this guy's base so it gets removed :o"
