what do you get when you kill someone after item damage is in then? You would basically be changing PvP to be risk without reward. |

You receive a fraction of the repair cost up-front. No inflation there since the ship is bound to be repaired sooner or later. At least this is what I took away from Jeff's remarks several months ago when the idea was fleshed out publicly. |

Actually, Jey had a really good idea that I think we'll end up using. When you kill someone, some junk parts will pop out that you can scoop and sell to an AI base for a price equal to some fraction of the item damage you caused. So we can keep that dynamic of killing someone and then scooping something from them. You could potentially also use those parts to partially repair your own items in order to save some money there or repair yourself on the fly. |

the worst part is that i remember discussing the idea with jey and ives, years ago on EF they thought it was a shit idea at the time, and i still cant fault their logic. |
