Check it out, peeps.

In this video, you can see the new mini-icons in the upper right that show your slaves, drones, bases, and squad mates that are in the same galaxy as you, providing their current shields and energy and an easy way to select them. You can also give orders to your possessions by selecting their mini-icons and then issues RTS-like orders via right-clicks. You can click on enemies to give attack orders, friends or objects to give guard orders, empty space to give a "move and guard order", a wormhole to give a "jump and guard order", a debris to give a scoop order, yourself to give a "follow me order", or a base to give a "dock and deactivate" order.

You can also see the new "XP widget" in the top bar that tells you how close you are to leveling up and the new built in "super item" in the Apprentice Ward in action. There are to types of different looking engine effects now on the ships, and some small improvements to the looks of projectiles and lasers.

Gotta love the Soon.... [tm] in the credits. I was really impressed by the new RTS orders. I take it that you hold SHIFT or something to select multiple targets? Does this work if you click on the ships themselves instead of their little thumbnails? Is it possible to get some other standard RTS targeting techniques like double-clicking to auto-select all units of that type, or dragging to select multiple ones? While the current system has a lot going for it, I think people will be put off if standard things like that are not implemented, and I don't see them really messing with the current gameplay either.

For me, it wasn't so much that the ships were flat, but ones like the App Ward and Big Green are a bit boxy. I thought most of the ships looked pretty great though, especially the OS Tortoise.

One last thing: could you please add a list of available controlbots to the right-click menu of docked ships? This seems like a really natural sort of feature to have. Also, what is the function of "id_select_ship" in that list?

Gotta love how everyone ignores what the movie's about :P

But yeah, RTS controls look pretty awesome, but my favorite part has gotta be the energy bars on allies. No more wondering if you're elecing your target well enough! :)

is there a force attack order? cuz there needs to be >_>

so slaves can shoot at warps, planets, asteroids, debris class asteroids and more.

also, is it possible to override the ai's weapon selection so as to tell them which weap to be using?

What came to mind: Using combat slaves to mine asteroids.

there was a mine asteroids button when he selected his combat slaves. I dont see anything wrong with that as long as they cant drop it off at a base.

One quick question:

Why do you always show us such failures of ship fits? I'm not trying to troll here, but every admin that's showed off usually has some obscure ship with Ares combat drones that don't work in any situation. I don't know much about ShM's, but I'm pretty sure when you have a Vjack as a main weapon on your healing ship you're doing it wrong. Can you show us some real fits, like FC, Sniper, etc.?

Anways, the video's great, catchy music and a good preview of C2!

Yep, I'm quitting as soon as C2 comes out. Way too many flat ships. Not enough depth. It's even worse than duct-tape holding a battleship together.

Even if the ships stay flat, you can just get a few players to make better models.

Or play top-down like C1 and you won't really notice the flatness, I expect. Still haven't gotten C2 to run properly on my Mac and I don't have a PC handy.
