I would like to suggest a Debris Collecting item.

Uses: To drag debris near the ship. (Specified for debris ONLY)

To offset some problems it may cause, consider the following.
On use of the Item the user will receive the following stats

Engine shutdown
Weapons lock
Damage Resistance -20%

Flying around in a DG scooping crap that may not even be any good is not fun for any class. Yes to anything that makes DGing less boring and tedious.

Like the old fake explosives devices they sold? A guy blew up a whole bulk's worth in sol once. Now that they have concussions it's pretty easy just to add a negative number, right?

That being said, I though this is what tractor beams are for? At least that's what I've always seen them used for.

See Boring; Tedious. Tractors can be used to grab stuff, but its clunky and slow. Most dg ai drop at least 3 debris on death, and it spreads out all over the place.

Been suggested many times before I believe, and I've always liked it.

Anything that will help me scoop magcannon IX after magcannon IX just a little bit faster...

ooh, there was variation - a modded magcannon IX! Go DF 400!

Aww, but I love seeing people just tractor stuff. All like "cba to scoop". It's sweet.

Yeah, I see your point. Can't even ap to your loot anymore. <shifty eyes> But this could be abused if [blah blah arbitrary reason here]. How would we prevent [blah blah blah mechanic] from being abused?

Abused how? i mean its only for debri not like you can tractor your ship, and your engine and weapons will be lock. how could that be abused.... XD. if anything you could get killed :P

Loot theft. I don't know, I was just being arbitrary. We need to have a valid debate before the admins implement anything. Come on, argue me a suggestion!

You're in a dungeon with your team of doing an uber or both. Some guy just decides that all the loot is his, no sharing. And don't even say kill him to get it back. That's not possible anymore. :wink:

Because there's a 5 second grace period where the other person could use their item collector.

They're on the same squad, though. Can't they just scoop it anyways? Or is it just tossed items?
