A little more straight forward than I would have been...

and honestly I brought it up this time cuz MAD+ was close in score to us which, with all due respect to MAD+, shouldn't be even fucking close.

Hey, i'm not the doctor here (Admin/Dev), but i would guess there are several ways to fix it.
- Bases can't buy the same item back and forth for the same amount of creds
- BS slaves doesn't count (bad fix, as someone actually uses these for real trading)
- Somehow make distance count
- Set a cap per minute of how much a slave's trades that goes to trading score

Just random thoughts after 2 minutes of thinking, neither of which are supergood, but i would guess that the admins/devs has some good ideas.

That was me, but it doesn't quite work in this context. Good design is as abstract as possible and should contain as few hardcoded exceptions and caps as possible. Removing certain ships from the trading score calculation is not a fix.
The trading score calculation needs to consider the distance between the base you are buying from and the base you are selling to in a way that using a BT to sell and buy commods to the same AI base is less efficient than using a normal trade slave to trade between bases that are 5 jumps apart.
