Who's trolling who? I use exclusively mining for combat, but do you really expect me to give up my setup for what should be a perfectly reasonable suggestion? Allow me to sum up so far:

ME: I'd really like to not have to completely change my setup to do halloween content that's meant to be fun! Wouldn't that be cool?

YOU: Herp Derp No Content shouldn't be fun you should have to jump through 7 hoops to do fun content!

Quit crying and put a Jiji on your ship, mmkay? It's getting kind of sad that you are unable to deal with things that don't phase people at level 300... It's no that fucking hard to put a Jiji on if you want to kill it and ignore it if you don't want to.

Oh yes, because a legit level 700 gunner would totally have two jiji's lying around in storage...

Did you know that they don't even have to be Jijis? There are like 40 other heat weapons in this game to choose from. Crazy right?

No other class gets to just up and decide they only have to use one damaage type so why should gunner?

Except no other class is as crippled as gunner is...because unless we use mining damage, we lost something like 70% of our dps :P


Mining missiles? Do 100% more damage. Mining weapons? Do 60% more damage! Combine the two and you get even more damage! Take away mining and the class gets...let me calculate this out real quick...about a 188% DPS boost. Compared to SD's 480% boost...or zerkers 700% boost...or snipers 480% boost WITHOUT physical weapons...

Sounds to me like you should be augging for DPS then. I personally get enough that I hardly ever use missiles because I do not need them. I do DGs, Ubers, and pretty much everything else ingame that can be shot at without the use of missiles or mining damage. If yours can't than I suggest either more damage augs or a reset to FC.

It's a well known fact that Gunners get significantly less DPS than everyone else, if that is something you cannot cope with and work around until the class is fixed then its just not for you. If I were to start a thread for everything that gunner cannot do simply because it is gunner than it would clog up the forums. This thread is just as useless as those would be since gunner is the problem, not the content.

Funny part is this whole thread revolves around probably the smallest problem that I can think of for gunner.

You have taken this entire conversation in the wrong direction.

All i am trying to say is that you should not need to find a completely new weapon in order to kill an AI that is only for A: Fun and B: A holiday.

If there was a ship that was resistant to the damage types you use and you attacked it, would you really want to have to fly all the way back to your base, grab a new weapon, fly all the way back, kill it so it stops ruining your experience, and then do that all over again, just so you can get on with playing a game?

What i'm trying to say here is that Holiday content is supposed to be FUN, not frustrating. Sure, make it a bit weak to heat weapons, but there is NO reason to give it 85% resistances to a certain damage type, since that just pisses off the people that USE that damage type and doesn't do anything to the people who do not.

If you dont wanna change wep then u got 2 choises

1. nag at Jeff untill he puts a -500% Mining resistance on every ai

2. Go play whit Pax ships ( exept Astro)

I agree with shawn. If you don't want to carry the right damage types then don't complain when things are harder to kill.

I don't see why that makes any difference.
people don't kill them for fun they kill them for the drops.
+Halloween is all about the grind ^_^
