for the anatolia spam to be less laggy, you need to let the lagkiller do its thing (at least up to lvl 6), that part is lagging mostly due to stuff in the code that came from c1.

My lagkiller was not limited. This is the same sort of lag I get as in olympus (especially Pos and Zeus when there's lots of spawn). Ship position and direction doesn't even update more than once a second, making it kind of hard to turn around and exit the galaxy....

Your doing a great job but there indeed is something with lagkiller that just doesn't work quite right. A conv with some of my team mates has shown that they actually turn lag killer off when they do runs like RP and oly because lagkiller produces more lag than whats actually there in the first place.

ok, ill tune down the lag induced on less important sobs then in the next version (lag killer will currently induce lags on stuff you didnt target, the higher it get, the more lag it induce), so that your own ship and your target stay as smooth as possible. But i agree that i might have been a bit overboard on those value.

Although i dont think its related if you have the issue without the icon actually appearing.

your own ship position should without a doubt update every frame even with lagkiller at maximum.... offcourse if your fps is at 1 even with lagkiller at 15. it cant update your ship position any faster than once per sec.

If your able to reproduce your issue in a controlled scenario, could you please send me a /dp of it ?
1.prepare your scenario to create your lag.
2.type /cp then enter to reset/initialise the profiler
3.execute your scenario for about 1 minute, causing your unbearable lag etc.
4.type /dp then enter, a popup should appear with bunch of things written in it, click in it, ctrl-a to select all, ctrl-c to copy then paste it in a .txt or directly in the mail to dmpfile@starsonata.com .

This is the best way you can help fixing those lags, analyzing that data, i can then try to reproduce it more effectively than just your description of the issue, and if i cant, i can still see more precisely where the lag is coming for, and if needed, can increase the profiler precision in that specific region, push a new beta, and ask you to redo the test with the new client that has more precision. Hence eventually pinpointing the source of your lag and allowing me to fix it.

Version 182.1278 is out. Im desperately trying to have all issues fixed before patching live, but a patch is way overdue, so this will probably be the last beta client before live patch.

really hate the pictograms in bases, instead of text, why not just make the docked base window size adjustable ?

I just DLed this and fired it up ... radar seems to be completely broken.

I see chat, floaties, base info, ship info, item info but nothing in my gal ... no ships no planets no stars ... nothing from either my base or after undocking my ship. (and then docking really fast before the base moves too far)

you can easily revert to the text format for the tabs (i left the comment in the dlg_trade.xml on how to revert it, just make yourself a skin with that revert and youll be back to the old way.

As for your suggestion to resize the base window, its indeed possible, but not that easily, not to mention, it would take even more screen space while shopping (which for some players is already quite limited). Multiple rows (like c1 had), is possible, but not without some heavy gui code modifications which we are not in position to make right now.

The icons felt like the best compromise.

As for bonecrusher. Check your pm for your issue, it seem to be related to your specific hardware / config and is caused by the new gui rendering code. I will disable it for the next live patch since its obviously not ready yet. (so it wont delay the patch).

Just run the PATCHBOT.EXE in the SS Beta folder.

if you dont have the check for update shortcut, chance are you didnt install the beta client from the installer (link in the first topic), if so, dl it then youll have the lastest version + the shortcut to update next time.
