Post subject:  FC ops Aug stats.

Obviously such augs won't go in game any time soon, but what about posting some balanced FC mastery ops augs stats just out of boredom? Augs like FC Defensive ops or everlasting. Augs that give bonuses mostly to slaves.
Very similar to DM augs.

The thing is, slaves already have augs and slave aug tweaking AND auras, so ops augs just seems a bit like overkill(In my opinion) :?

Without sounding like a mystic soothsayer -cough-... I think you'd go bananas if you lived forever, as portrayed in a many a movie/book.

I agree with Cygnus. It might be a tad bit overkill. On the other hand, if there was Slave Ops augs, they could have heavily nerfed player ship stats, or even penalties.

Why would anyone want to give slaves more power? Defeats the purpose of having slaves if they can overthrow you at any given time.

This is what happens when you name your slaves Trumpet Girl and Nook. They will overthrow you.

And yeah such augs should offer penalties... def ops should screw with dps etc.. everlasting should give elect tempering.

I think that FC Ops should rather determine how many fighters can be launched and what their stats are.

Long-time FC here, I disagree. n00bs that use their main ship as nothing more than an aura generator/meatshield are doing it wrong. The FC's main ship is vital in combat, and should not be weakened to make the slaves more powerful.

Then thats their choice. If a FC wants to do it, why should they not be allowed? Obviously the aug would only work if you're within a certain distance of the slave, to prevent a potential exploit that Sodomy revealed.

Sandbox game cannot be a sandbox game if you are restricted from what you can do without exploiting bugs.

Lets do this and to balance it remove aug slots on FC slaves only and reduce the slave mastery skill to 1% bost

You don't get it. It's a good idea, but needs tweaking. The augs boost slave stats. They do mediocre boosts to the FC itself, if any boosts.

For example, a Slave Mastery Assault Augmenter may do this:

(Tech 20)
+10% Assault Ops(1.0x Damage, 1.0x ROF, 2.0x Regen)
+10% Shields
+30% Energy
+10% Regen
+5% Hull
+25% ROF
+20% Vis
-5% Resist

This is a FC Mastery Augmenter, to compare:

(Tech 20)
+50% Shields
+70% Energy
+10% Regen
+15% Hull
+25% ROF
+20% Vis

Notice that the T20 Slave Mastery aug is much weaker than the standard FC mast?

Churchill is defiantly taking this topic in the right direction. Since my post in another topic kind of inspired this topic, I am /signed to Churchy's last post.

Also would be nice to make an Everlast/Defense type FC ops aug, and possibly implement a General type ops aug into the art of FC aug.

This would first allow a multitude of different setups for Fleet Commander slaves/main ship.
