Post subject:  Gunner Destruction

Make it encompass all damage types, but be locked to squad/team members of the Gunner. As it is we are seriously fooking useless in any squad setting while an FC for pocket change can grab an AI base bought aura that is almost twice as effective as the bonus that for us is too cumbersome to actually use.

Personally I dislike this idea, but I'll be kicking and screaming and kicking and screaming and kicking and screaming once Jeff isn't like "Omg C2! Blargh!"

Yeah, i really dislike this idea too because it's too...well, mindless. I like having to pick your weapons properly rather than just running full mining all the time.

Dwarf, are you going to include any of my (massive) post in your twinking of gunner? :?

I don't exactly love it either but after putting a lot of thought and time into trowing out better suggestions, and watching other do the same, always to no avail I feel we need something that makes the class viable in a squad setting.

To further put it into perspective for the administration a gunner to earn his/her place in a run needs 4-5 DPSers using the same damage type within the squad. To put that into perspective I got my gunner onto an Oly run and we had 3 DPSers and the same damage type was only ever used on 1 AI. At all other times 3 different types were going. So at the most efficient point on that run(for a gunner) I am still relatively useless.

The bonus is far too cumbersome and unrewarding to be used. While I love the system and the idea behind it, something so immersive cannot work when all other classes operate off of mindless systems that out perform it at every level.

So at this point it's just a "Keep it simple stupid" approach at maybe getting something done right for once.

Give Gunners a skill like Sniper Analysis, only call it something else that can be dirty, sayyyyyy Armor Penetration.



Over 10 minutes of HITTING a target increases Destruction bonus up to 40%?

Oddly enough I thought of this right as you posted it but under different context. My thought were raise the bonus to 25-30 on your target for your specific damage type then give 12.5-15 for all damage types. Seems like a logical fix too me.

That way 5 DPSers using the same damage and a gunner is actually > than 1 more Zerk instead of on level and if you say have 4 DPSers using 2-3 damage types you would almost add up to another character.

I disagree, I believe that would be too similar and therefore boring. Rather, make it scale with the damage the gunner is doing; the more damage, the more debuff. Make it include missile damage as well.

The minimum would be about 2/3rd of what it is right now, maybe 15%, or 7.5% with a different damage type.

The maximum would be unlimited, but it would be progressively harder to get a higher debuff, so it essentially maxes out at, say, 35% or so, but that would be very endgame.

And then just make the destruction skill give its full debuff from level one, so all that matters is the damage per second that you're doing. Maybe have it so at level 1 you get full normal debuff but no tertiary debuff from other damage types, and at tech 20 you get 50% tertiary debuff?


How does that sound?
